In World Cup 2015, team India had an outstanding streak right up to the semi finals. Performing continuously, winning all the matches and being cheered by all the fans.
But the support these fans had to offer changed when team India needed it the most. While the team was performing, the entire nation wanted to take credit for the victory. There was an abundance of - It is our team, our countrymen, player from my city et al.
As soon as India lost the first match, there seemed to be no shortage of analysis on the loss - team wasn't well prepared, the other wins were against weaker teams, bowlers don't know how to bowl, batsmen don't perform when it is needed the most, captain didn't distribute the bowling overs wisely and the most disgusting ones to hear - Virat Kohli was busy doing advertisements, he was in a hurry to meet the girlfriend, Anushka Sharma's presence brought bad luck. Are you kidding me ??
All I could think of when I heard these comments was - C'mon people, grow up!!
This is the captain who has proven his might time and again. He has been praised endlessly by the legends in cricket world. Virat Kohli is the person who is said to be the next Tendulkar of Indian team. I suppose you know better than all the cricket legends and that's why you are sitting in your drawing room like a loser judging the team.
Show some respect!! The team made it to semi finals because they worked hard for it. They didn't win the semi finals because they had an off day!! That is just about it. Yes, they could have done better but have you never had a bad day in your life?? Yes it hurt every Indian fan when the trophy went away but it hurt them more!!
Support the team when they need it the most!! True fans are standing by them now!!
If you cannot stand by them now, don't call yourself a fan and don't show up on their next victory coz they sure will have it very soon. They are still the winners that they were !!
